Welcome back to ReDIScover, everyone! Today's episode is going to look at some Disney Women we admire through the lens of how they defied gender "norms" in their stories, societies, and cultures. These characters set great examples of women stepping out of age-old constructs into a new, better, and more authentic way of living.

Whether they were a woman who was:

  • Sneaking off to war in place of her father, even when it was forbidden for women 🐉
  • So much more than the "most beautiful (and misunderstood) girl in town" 🥀
  • Wanting to choose who she spent her life with instead of marrying for the sake of an age-old law 🕌
  • Or a woman with a vision, whose gender and financial situation did not determine her ability to create her dream business whatsoever 🐸

We hope the characters in this episode re-inspire you to step into your power. Let us all be reminded that gender roles are mere constructs that we, just like these heroines, are very capable of overcoming. Being authentically who you are on the inside is completely unrelated to society's explanation of "gender," and your truth will always prevail. ♡
